As your outrigger canoe glides across the crystal clear waters, inching home towards Mauna Lani’s crescent of white sand beach, return to the soulful gathering place that is Surf Shack, where you, too, can share the memories you’ve made at Mauna Lani.

Inspired by Hawai’i’s iconic surf dens of yesteryear, the Surf Shack is a place of comradery and connectivity, linking Mauna Lani’s white sand beach to the Great Lawn, where family and friends of all ages unearth youth in the form of playful childhood games while marveling wondrously at the ever changing colors of the Hawaiian sunset. Grab your gear, talk story with friends old and new, and ponder the adventures that await as our pro watermen and women prime your journey with ancient Hawaiian wisdom and tales of their ancestors. And after you’ve experienced the inspiring ways of Kainalu, kick back, relax and reflect on the invaluable memories you’ve made as you savor fresh ahi poke and the sounds of live, local musicians.

Mika, Our Cherished Four-Legged Host

A natural swimmer and overall athlete, Mika loves spending time with our Kainalu Pros at the Surf Shack. When she's not stand up paddle boarding along the coast, sipping a Mika Mai Tai at CanoeHouse, or talking story with Uncle Danny, Mika can be found mingling with guests from the Front Drive to the Great Lawn.
